Burninating the Countryside

I am sure many of you know that Santa Barbara and surrounding areas are battling a very intense fire. The past few days have been very scary with the fire completely non contained and thousands of residents evacuating. But there is good news now!! According to The Associated Press, most evacuated residents are now allowed to return home. More than 30,000 people were under mandatory evacuation and another 23,000 were on evacuation standby, now over half of these people are safely in their homes once more. (But are told to stay alert). Sadly, 31 homes were completely destroyed and 47 others were damaged. Hopefully the count will not continue to rise. As of last night the fire is 40% contained thanks to a moist marine layer pushed out by the Pacific Ocean. Thank you God!

Here are some pictures I took of the fire damage out there from the last fire that hit Montecito. It was really bizarre to me that one house could be completely burned down and their neighbors was left 100% untouched. I can't imagine driving home to this. It's times like these that you really are reminded that it's all just stuff.
