OH SNAPPPP

The Deep End

So, I may be losing my mind but it's okay because I'm having fun while doing it. Today I made an offer on a CELLO!!! It's on craigslist and it is a mom selling it because her son lost interest now that he is in high school. haha so its obviously perfect that I would gain interest now that I'm in college. It has a crack on the back, along with a dent, and the paint is chipping off(okay perfect). I think it will be perfect for me and hopefully at a bargain price. I'm thinking the sound might be a little off because of the dent.. but hey, it's just a starter cello anyway. It also comes with a case and a bow and maybe I can sucker her into giving me her sons first music books. :)jk (i will not sucker her, i will ask politely)
Basically what spurred this was... well a lot of things. I was going through all my favorite songs of the year yesterday and I realized that over half of them have a cello mixed in somehow. I also saw the "Soloist" the other night with some friends (we were VIP sneak peak, oh yeahhh) and a 9 year old kid from the Phoenix symphony performed on his violin (which I use to play) along with a 16 year old kid from the symphony on his cello...they played before the movie and they were incredible. SO after hearing this little boy play violin I thought hmmm.. I should start playing again, but then I realized nah, I like the sound of the cello better!! Sooo that is how I decided.

happy late Easter!

this is a few of the ladies in my family on Easter at the family gathering. Lisa was able to come up with CJ! made for a hoppin time.

oh and that is our cousins new adorable puppy. and i also was able to meet my cousins baby boy Jackson for the first time. He is precious. This is CJ holding Jackson here. Here is Bella running with Bandit.. I love the action shot.
And this picture is just funny. (all of these pic's are CJ's)

Sadly I didnt get to go to any form of Easter service this year because I had two papers and three quizes due on Easter Sunday!?(who does that?!?!) all for the same teacher.. go figure. so i was up all saturday night working and then finally finished everything around eleven AM, took an hour nap and then trecked out to my aunt and uncles house. i think i am still recovering from sleep deprivation.

Blue Ribbon Month

April is Blue Ribbon Month! It is The National Child Abuse Prevention Month and in support everyone should wear a blue ribbon to help raise awareness! In many states this Blue Ribbon Campaign is very widely known. On the first of April every year schools participate by passing out blue ribbons to every student. Banners are hung in memory of children who have lost their lives to abuse and neglect. State capitols are decorated thoroughly in blue ribbons, etc. etc.. Sadly in the state I reside, Arizona, this campaign is known to almost no one. So I have taken the liberty to make it known to at least my friends and family. This is such a crucial cause and more people need to open their mouths and speak for these children who often times can not speak for themselves. Here are my own little campaigning pictures.

Here are pictures of something simple you can do to show your support. (along with the Peruvian purse I mentioned I bought in Philadelphia).

Seriously... I bought the ribbon at the dollar store. Not hard to do.

Spring Brizzzaake

PHILADELPHIAAAAAAAAAAAAA is where I went. (ILLADELPHIAA, as residents like to call it) It was pretty wonderful. I was able to spend some quality time with my brother as he showed me around the entire city and took me to the coolest sites. He even went so far to show me which neighborhood I would live in if I ever moved there.. he was right. It was perfect. It had a huge park with little children dressed in 70's style clothing running around. Kitty corner from the park was an adorable coffee shop with very friendly barristas, and to top it off, a woman's and children's crisis shelter was opening up where I would most definitely work. Not to mention that the houses and apartments were perfectly quaint some with very colorful porches (I would want one of those)and dogs just hanging out on the side walks while people rode their bicycles by. How sweet. We also took a nice stroll down the river that led straight to the art museum. The art museum was ginormous! it was awesome. I of course took a picture on the famous Rocky steps and next to his statue. We went to an adorable hippie shopping area where I got the most amazing vintage purse from Peru! It is great. It is about 6 inches tall with pressed designs into the leather and a long skinny leather strap. Ill post pictures sometime. Unfortunately Drew has about half of my pictures that I took on the trip but I should be getting them this weekend. For now here are a couple from our site seeing days around the city!
